Lumut Naval Shipyard (LUNAS) took part in the Consultancy Services for Reviewing and Refining the Development of the National Defence Industry Policy (NDIP) workshop, held from 5th to 6th November 2024 at the Shah Alam Convention Centre. Represented by our Head of Corporate Strategy and Business Development (CSBD), Ir. Muhammad Hanif Muhammad, LUNAS offered valuable insights to help shape a comprehensive and impactful National Defence Industry Policy (NDIP).

Organized by Bahagian Industri Pertahanan (BIP) alongside SIRIM Berhad, the workshop emphasized aligning the NDIP with the frameworks of the Ministry of Defence (MINDEF), the Malaysian Armed Forces (ATM), and related government policies. The new policy will incorporate critical elements from the New Industrial Master Plan (NIMP 2030) and emphasizes principles of Environmental, Social, and Governance (ESG) alongside advancements in Artificial Intelligence (AI), aiming for a sustainable, technologically advanced defense strategy.
