On 29th September 2024, YB Senator Datuk Seri Amir Hamzah Azizan, Minister of Finance II, along with a delegation from the Ministry of Finance, conducted a working visit to the LUNAS Langkawi Shipyard (LLS). The purpose of the visit was as part of Minister of Finance II visit to the Ministry of Finance (MOF) Agency in Langkawi.

Ir. Azhar Jumaat, Chief Executive Officer of LUNAS, along with Yang Berbahagia Dato’ Dr. Amiruddin Muhamed, Undersecretary of the Government Investment Companies Division (GIC), Ministry of Finance personally welcomed the delegation. During the visit, Salwa Abu Bakar, Head of LLS, delivered an in-depth briefing, offering the delegation a comprehensive overview showcasing the shipyard’s history, services, capabilities, and track records. The briefing highlighted key achievements that have positioned LLS as one of the leader in the industry. Following the briefing, the delegation was given a tour of the shipyard, where they had the opportunity to see its daily operations up close. This experience allowed them to understand the operational processes that contribute to LLS’s success. The tour also provided a deeper understanding of the shipyard’s capacity to handle numerous vessels, demonstrating that clients consistently choose LLS for our top-notch services and unwavering commitment to quality in maritime engineering.
