The delegation from the Malaysian Maritime Enforcement Agency (MMEA), led by Vice Admiral (M) Datuk Saiful Lizan bin Ibrahim accompanied by First Admiral (M) Hamizan bin Harun and Lieutenant (M) Muhammad Amirul bin Adznam visited Lumut Naval Shipyard (LUNAS) on 5th November 2024. Their arrival was welcomed by LUNAS’s Chief Executive Officer (CEO); Ir. Azhar Jumaat, Chief Operation Officer (COO); Cdr (R) Jal Shazidi Basari; Head of LUNAS Shiprepair; Tuan Syed Ahyattudin Shid Idris, Project Director of Littoral Combat Ship (LCS); Capt (R) Rosnizam Che Puteh and other LUNAS’s heads of departments.
The visit was part of a collaborative effort to ensure that LUNAS’s facilities and operations align with the highest standards required by the MMEA. The primary focus of the inspection centered on the maintenance and repair works for the KM LANGKAWI vessel. Through this visit, MMEA aimed to gain insights into the shipyard’s technical resources and its commitment to quality standards in maritime engineering.
LUNAS reaffirmed its commitment to delivering excellence, showcasing its ability to meet rigorous demands and ensure the operational readiness of MMEA vessels. This collaboration highlights LUNAS’s ongoing role as a reliable partner in supporting the MMEA’s mission to safeguard national maritime security.
