Lumut Naval Shipyard (LUNAS) recently received an industry visit from Invictus Skill Training Academy and Kolej Vokasional Nibong Tebal, with 47 students and 10 lecturers on 6th November 2024. The objective of the visit was to provide exposure and knowledge to students of Malaysian Skills Certificate program in Arc Welding and Metal Fabrication. The event aimed to offer them a firsthand experience of the ship repair and construction industry, offering insights into the workplace environment and enhancing their understanding of the field they are studying.
Our Chief Operation Officer (COO), Cdr (R) Jal Shazidi Bassari, welcomed the group and delivered a yard briefing. The visit continued with a career talk by the Human Capital Management and Administration team given by Mrs Azriyani Azhaan, followed by a comprehensive yard tour led by Mr Suhaimi Mustafa from Quality & Continual Improvement Department.
This initiative reflects LUNAS’s ongoing commitment to delivering excellence and fostering the development of human capital, in line with our Environmental, Social and Governance (ESG) efforts to invest in the growth and well-being of our workforce, ensuring the next generation of professionals is equipped with the skills and knowledge to succeed in the maritime industry.
