Lumut Naval Shipyard (LUNAS) recently welcomed a delegation from KD SULTAN IDRIS 1 as part of an industry visit aimed at providing valuable exposure to naval logistics and engineering operations. The group comprised 42 Officer Cadets in Training (PDL) and 29 Senior Officer Cadets (PKK) from the Logistics and Engineering Management program, who had the opportunity to gain firsthand insights into the functions and roles of LUNAS in shipbuilding and maintenance, particularly for government vessels, including those of the Royal Malaysian Navy (RMN).
The delegation was warmly received by Chief Operation Officer, Cdr (R) Jal Shazidi Bassari, who provided a comprehensive briefing on LUNAS’s capabilities in ship construction, maintenance, and repair. The visit offered an excellent platform for participants to engage with industry experts, deepening their understanding of real-world applications in naval logistics and engineering.
Beyond technical exposure, this initiative reflects LUNAS’s continuous commitment to human capital development, nurturing future maritime professionals who will contribute to the nation’s defense and security sectors. Through engagements like this, LUNAS remains steadfast in defining excellence in shipbuilding and maritime innovation.
