The annual security assessment for 2024, conducted by the Jawatankuasa Kecil Pemeriksaan Keselamatan (JKPK) under the supervision of the Chief Government Security Officer (CGSO), was successfully concluded on 17 October 2024. This yearly evaluation is specifically designed for Lumut Naval Shipyard (LUNAS), recognizing its vital role as a key facility within the naval base, responsible for managing the nation’s defense assets.
The assessment was chaired by the Deputy Director of Perak’s CGSO, Mr. Muhammad Firdaus bin Azman, and involved representatives from various agencies, including the Royal Malaysia Police (RMP), the Malaysian National Security Council, the Malaysia Civil Defence Force, the Malaysian Communications and Multimedia Commission (MCMC), the Department of Occupational Safety and Health (DOSH), the Malaysian Maritime Enforcement Agency (MMEA), Manjung District Office, and Manjung Municipal Council. Leading the efforts from LUNAS were our Chief Operating Officer (COO), Commander (R) Jal Shazidi Bassari, Head of Safety and Security Department, Mr. Muhammad bin Ramli and Head of Security, Mr. Rosman Ramli, who provided the committee with a detailed overview of the strategies implemented to address safety and security risks, including countermeasures against espionage, sabotage, unauthorized access, and other potential threats.
