On October 11, 2024, Lumut Naval Shipyard (LUNAS) hosted a delegation from the Jawatankuasa Pendukung Askar Wataniah (JAKPAW) Perak, led by Honorary Lieutenant Colonel Dato’ Mohd Zaki Mahyudin, Perak’s State Financial Officer and Deputy Chairman of JAKPAW Perak. The group, comprising 20 JAKPAW members, was warmly received by LUNAS’s Chief Operating Officer (COO), Commander (R) Jal Shazidi Bassari.

The visit aimed to familiarize JAKPAW members with the shipbuilding and ship repair industry, specifically focusing on defense-related vessels. The delegation began with a comprehensive briefing on LUNAS’s facilities and ongoing developments, followed by an in-depth tour of the shipyard. The tour included visits to key areas such as warehouses, workshops, and both the shipbuilding and repair area.

This visit underscored LUNAS’s commitment to delivering excellence while highlighting its role in supporting national defense together with a deeper understanding of LUNAS’s capabilities and its vital position within Malaysia’s maritime defense sector.
