On July 11, 2024, the Defence Industry Provision had organized a Provisional Committee Meeting at Wisma Perwira, Ministry of Defence Malaysia (MINDEF) to discuss the Proposed Establishment of the Coalition of Defence Industry Malaysia (CDIM), chaired by YBhg. Datuk Seri Isham Ishak, Chief Secretary of MINDEF.

Lumut Naval Shipyard Sdn Bhd (LUNAS) was represented by Chief Executive Officer (CEO), Ir. Azhar Jumaat and Head of Corporate Strategy & Business Development, Ir. Muhammad Hanif Muhammad among 85 representatives from 30 defense industry companies, alongside officials from the Ministry of Defence Malaysia (MINDEF) and the Malaysian Armed Forces (ATM). The meeting focused on the objectives, roles, organizational structure, and matters related to the establishment of CDIM.

This initiative marks a crucial opportunity to foster collaborations within the local defense industry and bolster capabilities in defense projects. LUNAS is committed to delivering excellence and is hopeful that with the establishment of CDIM, it can aim higher and build meaningful connections with other organizations for future partnerships.
